VisorBot v1.0 is out and the download button is live. If your first install went smoothly, you can stop reading. On some phones, though, Android puts up a fight — here’s the full path through it.
Why Android blocks it
VisorBot is installed straight from this site, not from an app store, and it uses an Accessibility service — that’s literally how it taps and swipes for you. Google Play Protect flags that combination on sideloaded apps, and in some countries (Vietnam, India, Brazil, Thailand, Singapore and others) it shows a hard “App blocked to protect your device” dialog with no install option at all.
That’s a blanket rule about how the app is installed and what it can do — not a judgment about VisorBot itself. Every APK we ship is built and signed by our release pipeline, and its checksum is published alongside it.
The workaround (two minutes)
- Open the Play Store, tap your profile icon → Play Protect → ⚙️ Settings.
- Turn off “Scan apps with Play Protect”.
- Install the VisorBot APK you downloaded.
- Turn Play Protect scanning back on. Really — it’s good protection to have, and VisorBot is already installed at that point.
One more gate: enabling Accessibility
After installing, Android 13+ locks the Accessibility toggle for sideloaded apps behind a “Restricted setting” notice. The unlock:
Settings → Apps → VisorBot → ⋮ (top-right) → Allow restricted settings → then enable Accessibility.
The app’s setup screen walks you through this too. You’ll see the same notice again after each in-app update — same unlock, ten seconds.
That’s it. If you hit anything else during install, tell us on the contact page and we’ll sort it out.
